Use California white sage for your ceremonial smudging and to clear negative energies. Once your sage is smoldering, whether burning the stick or using a smudge bowl, fan the smoke while working in a clockwise direction throughout your rooms.  Sweetgrass or Palo Santo wood can be burnt after smudging to bring positive vibrations and fill the space left by removing the negative energies.  Always end your smudging session by ensuring the sage has burnt itself out (preferred) or extinguish in your smudging bowl.
